- Abstract:
- Tauopathies are neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the intraneural aggregation of the microtubule-associated protein tau. We aimed, firstly, to identify the behavioral deficits of transgenic mice overexpressing human P301S-mutated tau, secondly, to correlate the behavioral deficits with the cerebral tau pathology, and thirdly to evaluate the efficacy of the intracerebral administration of siRNA as a strategy against a neurodegenerative tauopathy.

- Tauopathien sind neurodegenerative Erkrankungen, welche durch intraneurale Aggregation des Microtubuli-assoziierten Proteins Tau charakterisiert sind. Ziel dieser Studie war es, in erster Linie, die Verhaltensdefizite von transgenen Mäusen zu identifizieren. Als Zweites wurde die mögliche Korrelation zwischen Verhaltensdefiziten und zerebraler Tau Pathologie untersucht. Abschließend wurde die Wirksamkeit von siRNA Therapie als Interventionsstrategie gegen neurodegenerative Tauopathie geprüft.
