In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der prognostische und prädiktive Wert der Thymidilat-Synthase beim Kolonkarzinom untersucht. Hintergrund ist der mögliche Einfluss auf das Ansprechen auf eine 5-FU basierte Chemotherapie, zudem wird eine generelle, prognostische Bedeutung diskutiert. Die Analyse erfolgt an einem Kollektiv betroffener Patienten im UICC Stadium II und III, sowie in vitro an verschiedenen Zelllinien. Die Ergebnisse werden unabhängig und im Bezug zur Literatur diskutiert, eine abschließende Bewertung kann aufgrund widersprüchlicher Aussagen nicht erfolgen.      «

The presented work herein evaluates the prognostic and predictive significance of the enzyme thymidylate-synthase in patients suffering from colon cancer. Background is a potential influence on the response to 5-FU based chemotherapy, however, some other independent aspects are supposed. We investigate on a collective of patients in UICC stage II and III, as well as in-vitro in different cell lines. The results are comprehensively discussed both alone in as in context to literature, due to their inconsistency a final conclusion deems impossible.      «
