- Die akute Pankreatitis (AP) ist ein potentiell lebensbedrohliches Krankheitsbild. PROST erhob epidemiologische Daten während des Münchner Oktoberfestes. Am häufigsten waren die biliäre und die äthyltoxische Pankreatitis. Ein Anstieg der Inzidenz während des Oktoberfestes konnte nicht festgestellt werden. - Translated abstract:
- Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a potential life threatening disease pattern. PROST collected epidemiologic data during the Oktoberfest in Munich (Germany). Most frequently were biliary and alcohol-induced pancreatitis. There was no rise of incidence during the Oktoberfest. The overall incidence was shown to be obvious higher than supposed so far. Main cost factor of AP was the length of hospital stay. Thus, methods for cost reduction should be those, which reduce the length of hospital stay.
